Membership is granted annually stating in September and running through the following August.
Fees are on a per annum bases and are not pro-rated for portions of the season.
Membership in B.C. Highland Dancing Association is required in order for a dancer to compete at our CLOSED Competitions.
Any Dancer (member & non-Member) may dance at our OPEN Competition.
Membership class(es) applied for:
□ Family – Family membership consists of a mother, a father or a legal guardian of a dancer(s) - $30
(dancers over 18 years must have individual membership) ****
□ Individual - any interested individual - $30
□ Student – Full-time student 18 years and over - $30
□ Professional - Teachers, teacher associates, judges. - $10
If a teacher has a family membership, then they also need to apply for the teacher membership this will entitle
them to reduced workshop fees and admission to all of the three above competition (November 2011, January
2011and April 2012)
Membership Bylaw: "The Boundaries for BCHDA Closed
Competitions are Metro Vancouver (formerly GVRD) and the Fraser Valley District east to Hope and South to
the Canadian/U.S.A. boarder"
Membership Policy:
- Dancers who reside outside the Closed boundaries may apply for non-voting
membership to BCHDA providing they are not members of, or legible for
membership in another closed Highland Dancing Association outside the established BCHDA boundaries
- Dancers who have been members of BCHDA prior to August 31st August, 2007 will be "Grandfathered" as non-voting
members.
- Parents of dancers residing outside the established boundaries are not eligible to hold executive position on BCHDA Executive.
We offer 2 methods of registration for Closed competitions - Season Package and Individual
Competition Registration.
The annual membership fee is due with the Season Package or with the first competition
registration for individually.
If you choose the Individual Respiration Option, you may wish to send in your
membership fee early to ensure that you are on our membership list and therefore will receive our newsletter and any other mailings.
The competition numbers will be assigned based on receipt of Membership Registration and will be retained through the 3 Closed
Competition.
First to register will be last to dance.
