BCHDA Competition Rules
Membership Information Competition Information
 
  1. All dancing events are governed by the rules of the S.O.B.H.D
  2. BCHDA reserves the right to combine, cancel or divide events.
  3. Dancers must present a current SOBHD (ScotDance or FUSTA) registration card prior to receiving awards.
  4. Competitors dance only in their respective age group, based on their age on the day of the competition.
  5. Dancers will compete in inverse order of membership registration (first to enter will be last to dance). Competitors Numbers will be assigned with membership registration and will be retained through all 3 competitions
  6. Competitors must be on hand when their event is called or forfeit entry in that dance.
  7. Judges' decisions are final. Any protest must be written, signed and submitted to the Competition Secretary accompanied by a $25.00 fee before the end of the competition. If the dance committee sustains the protest, fee will be returned.
  8. Good sportsmanship is required of all competitors, parents, and families.
  9. Teachers, Parents and Competitors must not approach the Judges, Scrutineers or Dance Pipers during competition.
  10. Competitors must dance with swords and to music provided by BCHDA. Dancers must fill in for reels when asked.
  11. Competition Secretary must be notified of any class changes ASAP.
  12. Premier Dancers - you must be a BCHDA Season Member ***(enter all 3 competitions and dance in 2 competitions) to be eligible for Rep travel funds.
  13. Awards: Pre-Premier dancers will receive medals. All Premier Dancers will receive Cash prizes.
  14. All Dancers MUST change in designated change rooms. All garment bags etc are to be kept in these rooms. This will be strictly enforced.

***EXPLANATION OF GRAND AGGREGATE AWARDS
3 GRAND AGGEGRATE AWARDS GIVEN TO PREMIER DANCERS WITH THE HIGHEST POINTS AT THE END OF THE SEASON—AGE SLPIT TO BE DETERMINED UPON RECEIPT OF ENTRY.
3 PRE-PREMIER GRAND AGGEGRATE AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE 3 PRE-PREMIER DANCERS WHO ATTAIN THE HIGHEST POINTS DURING THE DANCE SEASON

SCOTDANCE FEES
This fee is collected by Competition Organizer on behalf of ScotDance BC.
The fee is $2.00 per dancer registered for a competition.
